Jim Butcher is the Pastor of NewPoint Church.

He was born and raised in Huntington WV, which is also where he got his first spanking, his first D in school, and his first kiss.

He is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts.  He graduated in 1996 from Southern Seminary with a Master's Degree in Theology.  “Which means,” he jokes, “that I know six really big theological words that I can use if I don't know the real answer!”

Jim served as the pastor of Poca Baptist Church for twelve wonderful years before resigning in 2008 because of the leading of God to start NewPoint Church.  

Important things to know about Jim: his wife's favorite restaurant is Outback (in case you want to buy him some gift certificates); he shot a 75 at Sugarwood Golf Club the morning of his wedding (which means he's good under pressure); and the most important thing that has ever happened in his life was becoming a follower of Jesus.

Jim lives in Putnam County with his beautiful wife and four terrific kids. He is also employed part-time by Putnam County Schools.
