Of course, there's no substitute for being there, but here are a couple of key things for our pastor concerning his sermons:

1. He understands that people haven't come to hear his opinions – they want to know what God has to say!  So the sermons stay centered in the Bible.

2. He is sold on the importance of “application” in sermons – what's said needs to apply to everyday life and the truths shared need to be ones that are useful for how we really live our lives.
