What are the worship services like? We sing some songs off a screen at the front of the congregation. We often will have someone share what God is doing in their life. Our pastor will share a message from the Bible. We usually have some creative elements to each worship service in order to bring the point home, from videos to dramas to who-knows-what. We want each worship service to be a time that engages the heart, soul, and mind, not just Sunday morning "putting-in-my-time" drudgery.
Am I expected to give during the offering? Nope. We do have an offering so that our NewPoint family can support the work that God is doing through our church, but as our guest, we certainly do not expect you to participate in that. Please feel perfectly comfortable in skipping that part of the worship.
What's the preaching like? Usually about half of the worship service is devoted to a sermon. Our pastor works hard to to present messages that have relevance to our daily lives and that help us to be able to live out our faith every day. We don't believe our spirituality should be something that's reserved for Sunday morning, but it should be something that's an essential and maturing part of our lives.
How do the services end? At the close of the worship, our pastor will have a time where he will invite people to make a greater spiritual commitment. During this time, you will not be singled out in any way. Of course, if God has been moving in your heart during the worship service and you desire to take a step forward in your spiritual life, we would be overjoyed for you to do so.
Why doesn't NewPoint have a traditional church building? We have deliberately chosen to meet in rented facilities in order to be able to spend more of our money on meeting people's spiritual and physical needs.
Are there additional opportunities to get to know folks? Yes - we've got small group meetings every week to help build friendships.
When and where are the worship services? All the information about that is on our "Location" page.
