Answer:  False!  The whole point of church is that we don't have everything together so we're coming to ask for God's help.

True or False: God helps those who help themselves.

Answer:  False!  The Bible speaks about needing the grace of God.  Grace means getting something you don't deserve.  God doesn't help those who help themselves – God helps those who admit that they can't help themselves.  When we come humbly to God and ask for His help, that's when He can enter in.

True or False: Church is for good people.

Answer:  False!  The truth is that we've all made mistakes and messed up.  It's just that some of us have done a better job of covering up the consequences of our sin.  Church is for people who know they've fallen short and are willing to come to God and ask for Him to change them.

True or False: NewPoint Church totally has its act together.

Answer:  False!  We make no claims to be a perfect church, but we are striving to create a place where everyone is welcome and God is in charge.

True or False: Because I've never been much on church, that means God doesn't love me.

Answer:  False!  The Bible says that God loves you.  Yes, you.  In fact, He has done everything He can to get the message to you about His love, even up to sending His own Son (Jesus) to earth to share the message of that love.  We'd love to tell you the whole story of His love for you – just ask us!
